The facts

Why choose the 2011 Shelby Ford Mustang GT500 SVT?

The Shelby GT500 has been a legendary Mustang throughout the years and models, and here we have one of the high-end Mustangs. Developed by Ford’s Special Vehicle Team (SVT). Their team took various models from the Ford lineup and made them faster and better handled than the standard production car.

One glance at this car immediately gets the heart racing. Its 550bhp run through the supercharged all-new aluminium (2010) 5.4 V8 32V (4 per cylinder) engine, mated to a six-speed Tremec gearbox, justifies its stunning looks. This example is one of 331 Sterling Grey models built in the year, with the red narrower over-the-top stripes. The wheels are 19” lightweight forged aluminium in grey, upgraded strut and shocks give a stiffer and more sure-footed feel. The standard differential was also changed to a 373 to help corner exit acceleration. The Shelby also has an Electronics pack, which includes reverse cameras, dual climate control and an upgraded shaker sound system.

This car has so many stunning exterior and interior features that if I were to list them, there would not be enough room. The Mustang was delivered into this country in August 2019 from Virginia and has had two owners since. It has covered only 58,000 miles from new.

The years of manufacture are shown from the time each model was produced in the final prototype. However, it’s helpful to remember that a small number of cars fall outside of the production dates shown because they are pre-prototype releases, trials or realised ideas. The numbers of each model produced are best estimates, not exact figures. Even with these exceptions, all Pilgrim’s models have passed the necessary tests of their day and are fully road-legal, low-volume-production motor vehicles.
