The Shelby Cobra is an iconic American sports car that emerged in the early 1960s, blending British craftsmanship with American muscle. It was the brainchild of Carroll Shelby, a former racing driver who envisioned a lightweight roadster with immense power.

Power

In 1962, Shelby collaborated with AC Cars, a British manufacturer, to modify their AC Ace chassis and fit it with a powerful Ford V8 engine. This combination resulted in a car that dominated both the streets and racetracks. The Cobra’s most famous iteration, the 427 Cobra, featured a massive 7.0-litre engine, delivering blistering acceleration and a top speed exceeding 160mph.
