We’ve seen it and worked with it all. We believed in old-fashioned customer service – simply tell us what you need and your budget and leave the rest to us!
Here at Pilgrim V8, we’re constantly looking to evolve and improve our resources and in-house engineering to ensure you get the best work and service for your car.
We use a wide network of approved suppliers selected for their world-class motorsport components and specialist services, which allow us to develop and prepare any car for any purpose. Get in touch with Paul Burgess to discuss your project.
Vehicle evaluation and assessment – classic, road or race car
Report on identity, condition and integrity of components and assemblies – evaluation of chassis structure and bodywork. Estimation of costs for recommission or restoration.
Project management – design and build, restoration and upgrade
From concept to creation – whether a one-off creation, a restoration or a custom upgrade – projects can be managed from both an engineering and budgetary prospective.
3D CAD design and engineering
All component design and drawing creation is done using automotive industry standard 3D CAD to produce both solid and surface models and assemblies.
Re-engineering and reproduction of obsolete components
Obsolete, damaged or unobtainable components can be scanned, measured and modelled in 3D CAD and remanufactured to original or improved standards.
Suspension design and analysis
- Existing suspension assemblies can be measured, modelled and analysed using a bespoke suspension analysis software package.
- Camber angle, castor, KPI, roll centre height and lateral movement, camber gain, spring and damper travel and rate, anti-dive and anti-squat geometries can be evaluated.
- New or upgraded suspension geometry can be formulated and analysed and components designed and manufactured
Prototype and small batch manufacture and assembly
Any prototype parts or assemblies can be CAD modelled, 3D printed, machined, fabricated, moulded, assembled and tested.
Pattern, mould and component manufacture
New body or component pattern files can be produced from CAD surface models, or existing components can be scanned to create CAD surface files. Patterns can then be CNC machined for moulds to be produced from or direct moulds can be machined.
Road and track set-up
- Vehicles can be ‘set up’ for road or track use.
- Spring rates checked, dampers dyno checked, ride heights set, toe-in, camber and castor adjusted.
- Corner weights and cross weight checked and adjusted.
- Anti-roll bar and suspension linkages adjusted to give optimum low stiction performance.
Performance and handling upgrades
- Aftermarket upgrade kits can be fitted.
- Bespoke upgrades can be defined and sourced.
Race preparation
Modern, classic or historic race cars can be prepared and repaired.
We’re experienced experts in manufacturing one-off vehicles and are happy to undertake movie vehicles, TV vehicles and advertising campaign specials. We work closely with the DVSA and the DVLA to make these vehicles road-legal if required.
