The facts

1968 Ford Mustang 289 (4.7L) V8 C-4 Auto Coupe (SOLD)

Something seriously special has arrived into stock – and we are really proud to be part of why this car is as good as it is as we have done a lot of the mechanical work right here at Pilgrim V8. This fully restored ’68 Coupe is finished in stunning Midnight Blue (originally Wimbledon White) with custom pin-stripe decals. Factory options included:

  • 289cu (4.7L) V8 paired with the smooth C-4 Select Shift automatic
  • Power steering + Selectaire air conditioning
  • AM radio, tinted glass, deluxe seat belts and remote control driver’s mirror

But what really sets this one apart are the upgrades added since restoration:

  • Holley Sniper 1 self-tuning electronic fuel injection
  • MSD ignition coil & distributor
  • Borgeson power steering conversion
  • Aluminium radiator + Revotec electric fan controller
  • LED headlight bulbs and sequential LED tail lights
  • Dakota Digital dash dials
  • Chrome dress-up kit and engine bay upgrades

Originally a San Jose (California) car used for its first 10 years as the “grocery getter” and later left preserved in storage for 29 years! The first UK owner sourced this gem and immediately imported it having it fully re-commissioned and restored including a full frame off re-spray and with just 3 UK owners since import – this has all the modern drivability to match that shows no evidence of ever being welded anywhere!

Retailing at £44,950 (SOLD)

The years of manufacture are shown from the time each model was produced in the final prototype. However, it’s helpful to remember that a small number of cars fall outside of the production dates shown because they are pre-prototype releases, trials or realised ideas. The numbers of each model produced are best estimates, not exact figures. Even with these exceptions, all Pilgrim’s models have passed the necessary tests of their day and are fully road-legal, low-volume-production motor vehicles.
