The facts
1969 Shelby GT350 Sport Roof – Gulfstream Aqua Blue | Fully Documented | Rare UK Example
Every now and then a rare gem appears. An opportunity arises to obtain it and your chance of being successful is reduced by the sheer number of equally admiring enthusiasts. Such was the case in winning this car at auction. It was rather like slashing your way through dense undergrowth to get it before someone else beat you to it. I guess it all comes down to who has the sharpest machete – that was Pilgrim V8 in this case!
Low and behold we are now the very proud owner of potentially the ONLY genuine 1969 Shelby GT350 Sport Roof in the United Kingdom. This is the last model year that Carroll Shelby was personally involved with in producing performance derivatives of the initial classic Mustangs. He later reunited with Ford again in 2003. This legendary car is being meticulously restored by Pilgrim V8 to remaining faithful to its original specification back in 1969.
The Marti Report confirms this cars authenticity and states this Dearborn built model was originally supplied with a 351cu 4v V8, Black Knit Vinyl Hi-Back Bucket Seats, 3.00 Conventional Rear Axle, FMX Select Shift Automatic Transmission, Sport Deck Rear Seat, Power Steering, Tilt-Away Steering Column, Power Front Disc Brakes, SelectAire – Air Conditioning, complete tinted glass, Deluxe Belts, Tachometer and Trip Odometer.
Although this build is still underway, this is a huge opportunity to register your early interest to acquire this stunning piece of automotive history for your collection and would certainly represent a great investment.
Please call us to arrange your appointment to view the car during the build process, and any prospective buyers are welcome to join us in bringing this legendary muscle car to the UK roads.
Carroll Shelby was a very special and gifted man and his influence on the motor industry and racing world is legendary. It is only befitting that we honour that legacy with this stunning car and allow this iconic vehicle to be seen and enjoyed today.

The years of manufacture are shown from the time each model was produced in the final prototype. However, it’s helpful to remember that a small number of cars fall outside of the production dates shown because they are pre-prototype releases, trials or realised ideas. The numbers of each model produced are best estimates, not exact figures. Even with these exceptions, all Pilgrim’s models have passed the necessary tests of their day and are fully road-legal, low-volume-production motor vehicles.
