The facts
Why choose the 1966 Ford Mustang?
This Mustang rolled off the Ford production line in San Jose, California, and was first sold on 14 January 1966 by Howard Motor Company of Seattle to Mr Jack Morgan of Linden Avenue, Seattle.
We acquired the car from Mr Anor of Temecula, California, who had sought a “rock-solid example” for his dream build. He found it in a well-preserved T-code six-cylinder owned by Mr T Wertz of San Diego – the ideal base for a V8 conversion. In October 2017, over $20,000 was spent upgrading it to a Ford 351 Windsor V8, alongside numerous other enhancements.
Once imported to the UK, a further £20,000 was invested by its new owner in high-quality mechanical upgrades. The Mustang was mainly used for shows and Sporting Bears charity drive days. A stunning, show-ready Mustang that blends classic style with modern performance – now sold to its new custodian.

The years of manufacture are shown from the time each model was produced in the final prototype. However, it’s helpful to remember that a small number of cars fall outside of the production dates shown because they are pre-prototype releases, trials or realised ideas. The numbers of each model produced are best estimates, not exact figures. Even with these exceptions, all Pilgrim’s models have passed the necessary tests of their day and are fully road-legal, low-volume-production motor vehicles.
